Aggressivly Improves Pigmentation, Acne And Aging
What is the VI Peel?
The VI Peel is a blend of powerful chemicals to promote aggressive cellular turnover, which targets correction to skin problems such as pigment, acne, wrinkles and overall sun damage. The VI Peel would be considered an aggressive medium-depth peel and does require some down time and special home care. The great thing about the VI Peel is that it is a mixture of several different chemicals formulated to work together more effectively that they would on their own. This is a favorite among our staff and several employees do this treatment regularly. We suggest normal treatments be done every 3-4 months or for more aggressive treatment a series of 4 may be done every 5-7 weeks
Who should do it?
A good candidate for the VI Peel is someone in their twenties or older with acne, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles and sun damage or light scars. You must be able to reframe from picking at your skin and be able to follow the home instructions to do this peel. It is advised to avoid this peel if you are allergic to salicylic acid, have open sores or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Before you come in for a VI Peel, please plan for very little activity outside your home for 4-6 days. It is important to not be sunburned or have had a peel in the last 21 days. Your skin must be clean and dry for treatment and active acne breakouts or other open sores should be avoided. Again if you are allergic or even sensitive to salicylic acid, have open sores or are pregnant or breastfeeding you should not do this peel.
During your treatment, you will feel some warmth and possible stinging, but usually the VI Peel does not hurt as much as some other peels. This peel does come with some strong chemical smells and this cannot be easily avoided, if you are sensitive to smells please let us know.
After your treatment you may be a little pink and your skin may be a little sensitive and tight feeling. You will need to leave the peel chemicals on your skin for 4 hours afterwards and should stay indoors during this time. That evening, you will feel some itching and may take an antihistamine such as Benadryl, do your best not to scratch. It is important to wear a high quality SPF always. The VI Peel comes with an at home kit with instructions and products to use for the next seven days, you must follow these closely and avoid heat and sun during the peeling process.
The VI Peel starts at $225 but can be tailored especially for your skin ranging upwards in price depending on your specific needs. The aftercare products and instructions are included in this price.
Exfoliates Surface Layers Of Skin
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion involves the skin being “sandblasted” by crystals to remove the top layer of the skin, promoting new cell production. Microdermabrasion cleans your pores and hinders future breaks outs if used on a regular basis. This relaxing treatment also stimulates collagen networking to even out skin tone, texture, and appearance, and makes your skin more permeable to increase the absorption of vitamins and benefits in your skincare products.
Am I a good candidate?
A good candidate for microdermabrasion is someone in their twenties to middle-age who has generally healthy skin, but wants to improve texture and tone. Microdermabrasion can be done aggressively every few weeks and overtime extended to every 6 weeks to maintain results. Fine lines, uneven pigmentation and clogged pores are some of the skin issues that can be addressed with frequent microdermabrasion treatment. For those who have deeper wrinkles, dark brown spots or hormone related pigment, a chemical peel or microneedling treatment may be more appropriate to achieve the best results.
Are there risks or side effects?
Microdermabrasion is a simple, quick and painless treatment, with no downtime and minimal risk if you are a “healthy” adult. Striping can occur in clients with very sensitive skin, the treatment should feel like a cat’s tounge, if it feels too strong notify us to avoid striping. Bleeding can occur on skin with acne or recently shaved skin, some bleeding is okay, however it is an indication that the levels may be too high. For anyone with dermatographism, (you get red welts from a simple scratch) may likely see hive-like blotches and an oral antihistamine can help.
How many treatments should I do?
A normal course of treatments vary between 6-10 at approximately 3-4 week intervals. It is recommended that you schedule an additional treatment every 1-3 months to maintain your skin’s condition. Most patients actually feel and see a difference just after two or three treatments, but schedule additional treatments to increase this improvement. Combining this treatment process with a good SPF and high-quality skin products will help you maintain your improved skin. Be advised, raised or deeply pitted skin areas (possibly from old severe acne scars) and darker pigmented areas will require multiple treatments over extended amounts of time. While Microdermabrasion helps superficial problems, it is not the cure-all for heavily damaged skin; it is a noninvasive technique for those of you who do not need a serious laser or chemical peel treatment.
When you arrive for your microdermabrasion treatment please be prepared to wash your face of all dirt, oil, and products. Your skin must be completely clean for your treatment. Please keep in mind that you should avoid tanning/direct sun and extreme wind, as well as harsh products 5-7 days before and after your treatment.
A hydrating toner, moisturizer and sunscreen are applied to your skin prior to leaving the office. Some redness is expected afterwards, however this is not likely to persist more than a few hours. The sensation of having a mild windburn or sunburn will also pass after a few hours. Applying a high quality moisturizer to hydrate the skin will help the healing process. Avoid sun exposure for 5-7 days after a treatment. We do stress the importance of using a high quality sun block product as well. Exposure to UV radiation is one of the key factors in speeding the skin aging process.

What is microneedling?
The concept of microneedling has been around for years; think derma rollers and needling stamps. However, microneedling is a more sophisticated process, using sterile, one-time use tips with tiny micro-sized needles and extremely fast repitition rates, so that the needling process is so fast and precise that your skin is only damaged in a way that promotes the body’s natural response to heal itself better that is was before your treatment. While creating these micro-injuries in the skin, the “holes” provide a temporary “fast track” to your skin for high quality serums to be absorbed more completely, making the benefits of those products so much stronger.
Who should do microneedling
A good candidate for microneedling is someone who wants to get a head start on maintaining their youthful skin, like someone in their 20’s. Microneedling is also amazing at helping to correct existing signs of age and damage such as fine lines, wrinkles, small scars, discoloration and thin skin. Microneedling can also be used on stretch marks and light scars to help reduce the appearance over time.
What do I need to do before my microneedling appointment?
Before your treatment it is best to have clean skin and to not have a sunburn, recent injectables in the area and no tattoos. We will ask that you come in early to ensure your skin is clean and give you a packet of numbing cream to ensure your treatment is more comfortable. If you have an allergy to lidocaine or other topical skin numbing medications please let us know beforehand.
What will I experience during my microneedling session?
During you microneedling session you will feel mostly a vibration feeling, some areas may be a little sensitive but for the most part the treatment is not uncomfortable. Our Elite Micropen is adjustable and the depth of the microneedles can make the treatment more or less painful so just communicate with your technician if you are uncomfortable at any time.
What are the post-treatment instructions for microneedling?
After your microneedling treatment, do not touch your skin unless you have washed your hands first, do not go to the gym or other places that may have an excess of germs. You will be given a list of products that are safe to use over the next 48 hours, and depending on your skin concerns, some products may be highlighted as optimal in achieving your desired results. Please avoid sun and heat for 48 hours, but also wear sunscreen as just driving home still places you under UV rays.
